EMDR Therapy is an evidence based Psychotherapy used on Trauma Victims to remove uncomfortable emotions and negative self beliefs from traumatic experiences. It was founded by Francine Shapiro 25 years ago. She has rolled out this therapy World Wide and it is now the go to Therapy with war veterans, abuse survivors, domestic violence survivors etc. The EMDR association have sent crews of Psychotherapists to Sites of Bombings, mass shootings and natural disasters to work with people who have experienced and witnessed traumatic events.

A few sessions of EMDR Therapy can completely heal trauma in Clients where years of talking has not worked. It addresses the trauma in the brain, the body, emotions, self beliefs and senses so that the client is no longer constantly re traumatised by triggers.

Over the past 2 months I have worked with Clients who have released trauma that they have held for years. The Client does not have to To go into detail of the events, we don't need to talk, we allow the brain to process the memory.

If you have memories that feel fuelled with emotion and negative self beliefs, I highly recommend using EMDR to heal this and allow this trauma to leave your body.

With my hand on my heart I can say that this is a life changing therapy, it is changing the world of mental health and Trauma Healing.

  • It is a short therapy, just a few sessions
  •  You will still have the memory but you wont feel anything when you think of it
  • You will discover memories that are linked
  •  You will have new positive thoughts about yourself
  • You will be in control of your emotions again
  •  According to the EMDR Institute website, research has shown that between 84% and 100% of Trauma victims who had experienced a single trauma recovered fully after 3 to 6 sessions.
  • This treatment can be used to heal non-trauma-related painful memories that negatively impact individuals in a variety of ways. For example, individuals who developed low self-esteem or other negative self-perceptions, due to growing up in dysfunctional homes, may also benefit from the strategies used in EMDR.
